After the
success of the Valentines Ball in February 2004, Living Life
Entertainment, Wellknown and Life Cars got together to do it
again... this was the return of Soul Deep. This time the
eagerly anticipated and much talked about Soul Deep returned
for the Easter Ball which was held in the exclusive, lavish
and high-status Silk and Spice club which is situated in
Victoria Street EC4.
There was a
lot of debate beforehand as to whether or not this new Soul
Deep venue could live up to the standards that the luxurious
International Hotel had set and whether that special vibe
could be reproduced once again. For all those who attended
this Easter special the question was quickly answered within
moments of entering Silk and Spice. I had been informed before
hand that this venue was “plush” and I must confess that I
most definitely have to agree with my sources. The size of
this venue created a different atmosphere to the last Soul
Deep; however, this did not mean that the atmosphere was any
less of an experience. The size of the venue allowed for what
I would describe as a more intimate relaxed atmosphere, with a
lovely décor and intelligent flooring arrangement in which you
were allowed to absorb this wonderful atmosphere that the Soul
Deep line up had created.
As per usual
the type of Soul Deep clubber that were present kept in tandem
the high quality of previous Soul Deep functions, as the
photographs taken by Promotion City camera crew show the
ladies were dressed immaculately and no effort was spared in
any department. The ratio of females to men on the night was
2:1 and it was apparent that the gents most definitely ‘loved
it’.
The usual
Soul Deep ‘suspects’ of Special Touch, Lloyd Life, Gal Flex,
90%, Boogie Boy, G-Ents, Fabulous 3. Joe Blimey, J2, Mark T
spun the very best in new and old skool classics in the form
of RnB, Bashment, Garage and Rare Groove. The DJ’s and MC’s on
the night did a magnificent job in keeping the ladies and
gents entertained and got lots of ‘props’ from the crowd who
respectfully showed their appreciation at every opportunity
given.
The comments
received on the night strongly suggested that this night was
to go down as a successes in the long line of the Soul Deep
series. General comments on the night paid compliment to the
promoters in keeping up the standard in this continuing series
and attracting that classy type of clientele and also the DJs
and MC’s for keeping them on their feet and singing at the top
of their voices.
So keep
your eyes peeled on the UK Events area for the next Soul Deep,
