It seems just
like yesterday when we were raving to the very first Soul Deep
in Corks Wine Bar, approximately one year ago. That’s right a
year has passed since the very first Soul Deep launched in
that time we have been graced with a brand new raving
experience. Since then we have been treated to many a Soul
Deep special which have included the ‘off the hook’ New Years
bash, the exquisite valentines ball and the exhilarant and
classy Easter bash.
Now one year
on we were presented with arguably the biggest Soul Deep
ever!... The First Year Birthday celebration which was held at
the Silk and Spice, Temple court AKA Temple Bar night club.
All of those
who attended the last Soul Deep at Silk and Spice, Temple
Court would have been more than satisfied with what they got
in terms of value for money and the luxurious surroundings
that they were raving in. The one thing that they would have
commented on was that the size which was reminiscent to that
of a large wine bar thus sometimes creating a compact
atmosphere. However the promoters definitely had a big
surprise for us on the night! Most people including myself
were oblivious and unaware that there was a ‘secret’ second
room that had been prepared to be opened up for this bombastic
night. This of course allowed for the capacity to almost
double the amount of ravers seen at the Easter Soul Deep.
As groups of
hyped up ravers flooded in the celebrations begun as we were
musically entertained initially by sets of R’n’b and Hip-Hop
to get the crowd going. This was provided by Kool J and Natty,
90% Hit Squad, Elliot Ness & Daze, Lloyd Life and Hyperdelic
whom did just that and set the pace for the rest of the night.
Everyone in
the club just seemed to be having a good time, not a hint of
trouble as the guys were more than entertained and occupied by
the phenomenal amount of fine young ladies that were present
in the venue. Laurent Perrier was being sold by the bottle
faster than the music was getting mixed and everyone was just
vibing and doing their ‘thang’. Gentlemen represented by
looking sophisticated and smart they certainly enjoyed
entertaining and liaising with the ladies accordingly!!
G-Ents, Cover
Up, and Boggie Boy provided us with sets of Bashment and RnB
both old and new, which had the ravers giving it ‘the run’,
the Scooby-Doo, the thunder clap, the fan dem off, the tek
money gyal and many more dances all over the venue so much so
that the surprise room had to be opened as the Air Condition
simply could not handle the heat! Dances old and new were on
show and it was a definite exercise selection.
Promotion City
caught up with some ravers who appeared to be having a good
time- Kelly from East London stated, “My feet are hurting so
much but every time I sit down I hear another tune!” no rest
for the wicked.
CK Flash then
proceeded to switch up the music and take it to the old skool
garage classics and the more up to date soulful garage were
also mixed in sending the crowd wild. Hands were constantly in
the air as a sign of appreciation and ladies were singing
their hearts out to some memorable tracks. Everyone was on
their feet bubbling and barely had a chance to catch a breath.
The rooms
became hotter and so did the crowd, Cheryl from South-East
London stated “I have to hit the wall with my fan because CK
Flash is too much I salute him!”
We managed to
catch up Lloyd Life whom stated that this night was dedicated
to all the Soul Deep ravers who had backed them over the last
year, on behalf of Living Life entertainment and Wellknown he
sent his thanks…
Living Life
Entertainment and Wellknown just keep on surprising us, just
when you think they can’t get any better or bigger they pull
off a night like this! Well done lads!
