Saturday 13th March, Nigel B and Abrante's Piscean Birthday Party turned out to be one of the best trouble free raves for a long time coming. With both sets of limited tickets (priced at £10 and the remaining tickets were priced at £15) all sold out before 13th March hit us we were almost certainly to be in for a treat. If you were unfortunate enough to miss out on either the £10 or £15 tickets then you would have had to part with little that extra cash at the door. Not that this stopped the raver’s who queued patiently and orderly outside in the cutting wind and rain. As you queued up security was ‘tight but polite’ and kept accordingly to the strict dress code. A few people were politely turned away as they did not measure up to the dress code of sexy and smart.

After passing through security you were faced with the friendly smile of the lovely cashier ladies to whom you presented your tickets or money to.

The venue had a nice feel to it as on arrival you were greeted by wooden flooring and that warm packed ‘wine bar’ feeling. You enter Protokol and get the feeling that the venue is quite small.  But as your eyes wander to the stream of sexy ladies moving towards and from a particular corner of the club you start to realize that there is actually a stairway to downstairs. After following the lady led trail you immediately realize that although upstairs is vybing, downstairs the vibes just completely hit you and you were totally off the hook or best known as ‘off the heezy!’ you leave warm wine bar mode and enter the ‘bashment’ zone!’

Downstairs you also had what we describe as two hidden chill out sofa rooms (for those whose feet were hurting) to sit down and take in the good music or simply for those who wanted to get a bit more personal and intimate with each other!!’

The main room was completely packed out mainly with females who were sexy, fine and definitely stylish! … This inevitably caused the temperature to be quite hot both physically and musically. If you were outside for a long time in the cold, then this was definitely the rave to warm you up!  Ladies were both stylish and extremely daring as our pictures scrolling on the right show. Ladies had no fear as the strict dress code enabled the gents to represent to the fullest!

The quality of music was first class, and ‘hats off’ to all of the DJ’s and MC’s who played on the night. These included; Pc Mistri, Fifth Avenue, Latest Edition, Studio Express and Special Touch featuring birthday boy 1 Nigel B and 90% featuring birthday boy 2 Abrante who between them played the very best in RnB, Bashment, Garage, Soca, Lovers and Rare Groove.

A massive big up to the Original PC-DJ himself, Birthday Boy, Nigel B who absolutely ‘smashed it’ and sent the crowd in to a wild frenzy with his musical sets. Old and new, Nigel B played it, blending in using the aid of his trusty laptop. Even a garage set went down extremely well with the crowd, who it seemed were simply on an enjoyment ‘ting’. The other half of the birthday celebration was shared with birthday boy Abrante and 90% who were (as per usual) impeccable and mixed and blended both fresh and classic joints much to the crowds appreciation!

A lot of faces from the music industry came out to support these two heavy weights of music.  Promotion City would like to say big up to Choice Fm’s Calvin Francis and McFarlowe, Night Moves’ Errol Lloyd, Life Entertainment’s very own Lloyd life and Wellknown in particular.

Promotion City asked a few of the raver’s how they thought the night went and the feedback was very good. Comments include Karla from North London who said simply “it’s just so ram in here, only downer is that its just a bit too hot!’, Denise from East London said “Nigel B and Abrante have had a really good turn out here tonight and we have been treated tonight!” Samantha from South London stated that the atmosphere and vibes were electric and probably had something to do with the heat that was generated on the ground floor level. Whilst Martyn from West said “I am totally amazed, not only the amount of gyal but the amount of high quality gyal I’m seeing in here tonight! I guess Shuggs from 90% summed it up when he simply said “Only the best ladies for us bruv, only the best…!” The general feedback before and after was that it was a very good night packed with sexy, stylish and fun filled vibes.

This was no more apparent when Dodds does what Dodds does best and entertained the crowd on the Mic in tandem with Nigel B on the decks at the end of the night. If you were unfortunate enough to go home before this finale then you would have missed when Dodds amused the crowd with his unique comical style in which Promotion City’s Neil-One, Nigel B, Abrante, WJ Goodgrooves, the cloak room beyond security were jokingly verbally attacked in good spirit. This was great stuff and brought a smile to everyone’s face. The Don King look-a like Security man, was politely asked, who had vexed him, and told that he was not usually vexed so easily! This was rounded of by Dodds explaining to the crowd that the reason for this must be that he did not have his usual ‘big ting female’ in front of him ‘scrubsing him down!’, forget the Jamaican comedian ‘Oliver’, this was great stuff, what a way to finish off a great night. Big up Dodds!!!

It goes without saying that this night was a success, and the rumours on the street are that plans are already in place for next years party!! So be sure to keep your eyes on the UK Events area of the PromotionCity.co.uk website. Keep it bookmarked to PromotionCity.co.uk because we're your one stop solution!
