This was the sequel to one of the most spectacular and
memorable nights of 2003 ‘Mr Fox’s Foxylicious Birthday treat
– 2004’. Yes this was the sequel in which so much hype had
been created. The enormous buzz which had been created from
the hype which derived from banners, radio and not forgetting
the fantastic flyers that had ‘man dem’ and ladies from both
sides of the water looking to represent and pay their respects
to a man who is highly respected within the music industry.
The Birthday celebrations took place in the surroundings of
Studio 33, Vauxhall SW London. On approach you could not fail
but be shocked by the amount of people waiting outside the
venue to get in. This was serious; the ratio was easily 5:1
ladies! Not even Mr Jerk who was outside preparing his ‘Jerk
Chicken’ anticipated such a phenomenal turnout, as he soon
sent for reinforcements in the form of more Jerk grill!
As you entered the club and passed the extra tight security
you were greeted by what could be described as a sort of VIP
area in which Mr Fox’s family and close friends greeted ravers
upon entry. The place was ‘packed’ with some foxy ladies who
gave us the pleasure of modelling some exquisite and
‘sexylicious’ outfits. The ‘Man dem’ came out looking
bling-bling and gangster style slick.
The music on the night was reminiscent of the good ol’ house
parties backing the day, with the exciting Bashment having the
ladies doing the ‘fan dem off’, man dem doing the ‘Bellview’
and everyone scooby-dooing…. away! We were also entertained
with up beat RnB, classic rare grooves sounds, and nuff
‘wallpaper rub down’ Slow Jamz. The DJ’s on the night were
from a host of sound from North, East, West and South London
including AfterDark,Hyper ESQ, Studio Express, Fifth Avenue,
Gal Flex, 90%, Latest Edition, Desi G & Barry White, Chris
Sweeney, Rap Attack plus a host of DJ’s from Lightning FM.
As usual Promotion City caught up with several ravers whom
shared how they thought the night had went:
Charlene from South London stated that she simply could not
believe how ‘ram’ it was, whilst Yvonne from West London
reiterated this by stating – “I think this was a great turn
out for Fox, what a roadblock!” Danielle from South West
London also came down to celebrate Mr Fox’s birthday with her
girls and stated that It was definitely a night for blinging
and popping champs and not a night for the haters!
Big up to all the After Dark UK Crew, Mr Fox and the Lightning
FM Radio massive that put this night on! Keep up the good
work! Watch out for the Brighton Weekender in August!!!
