On bank holiday Sunday 2nd May we were presented with a feast raving options and  Promotion City decided to take it upon ourselves and get ‘intrigued’ at one of the industry’s most up and coming promoters ‘Irresistible Promotions’ intrigued was held at the market bar No2 crutched Friars.

On arrival of the club, we were greeted by Irresistible Promotions Buttersbwoy, Cecil, DJ Supreme and the sexy Skeet. Skeet, I have to confess set a very high standard in her sexy ‘parachute dress’ and set a very hard act for the rest of the ladies to follow. The act however was successfully carried out to ones surprise as the gentlemen adhered to the policy of no street wear and strictly glamour mainly dressed with lots but not too much ice on show. The ladies outdid the men in that they came sexy and well co-ordinated with their girls as they roamed in three’s and four’s, looking Super Fly and sophisticated.

The atmosphere in Market Bar was a nice relaxed atmosphere; there was no tension, no screw face individuals, and certainly no gazers! What you did have however was happy people enjoying themselves and stepping to those irresistible four to the floor beats. Musically we were immediately put in reminiscing mode once we started hearing those classic Old Skool beats. I won’t forget to mention how the place got ‘torn’ down when MC LEV and CKP took the Mic, with DJ Footlose controlling the wheels of steel. We were also treated all night by Funky Smith, MC Natural, and Good Vibes Clive, Kingsley and Supa D spinning all the best in Old Skool garage beats including 2 step, four-four and vocalist old skool garage.

Promotion City caught up with some of the ravers from the night which included Donna from South London who said “I’m having a great time it’s a nice vibe and I’ve caught up with a few of my old friends so I’m pleased the way the night has turned out!” Carl from East London said “I know there are a lot of Old Skool raves about but not many nowadays have got the happy vibes which is in here tonight that seems to have been lost.

Irresistible Promotions treated us to a surprise PA by by AIME Records performing the hit classic ‘follow me’. The crowd went berserk when this was performed and the performance generally summed up the night – very good! (Click Here to hear a recorded clip of this PA from the night)

Watch out for Irresistibly Different at Market bar on Friday 7th May 2004. Check out our UK Events page for more info on this night. If you are interested in obtaining Guestlist for this night then contact us at info@promotioncity.co.uk
