had two meanings for this evening at one of London’s newest
venues. It was a ‘Dance’ like no other since the days of Gass
club, and also a night for the ‘Independent’ ladies to get out
and celebrate with their girls.
NYT, formally known as Gass club has made
a come back since the old skool days of dancing to bashment
and urban beats throughout the night. A plush venue, with
décor to match, NYT is without fail the newest A-Listers club
in London and is yet to have its 'New York Taxi' label exposed
among the regular Central London ravers.
Living Life Entertainment and Confunktion
have a history of successful nights under their belt, and
'IndepenDance' is yet another in the making. This mid-week
affair is definitely the place to be on a Wednesday. It’s the
best excuse for being out with your closest peeps if you want
to mingle, drink and dance during the week.
From the moment Promotion City arrived,
we could see that this night was going to be extremely busy,
as our usual Central London ‘secret’ parking locations were
already filled and cars were parking in the most peculiar
spots and positions. Crowds of people were streaming around
looking for the venue, and everyone ended up following a crowd
of old skool Gass Club ravers to the door. With the
excitement of a new pure vibes venue, everyone was smiling and
in there essence while queuing up for entry.
Having squeezed through the hundreds of
sharp gents and even more sexier females we could see
immediately that this night was no let down. The tunes spun
on the wheels of steel were governed by the residential Sammy
Confunktion and Legendary Lloyd Life, with mic men Joe Blimey,
Mr Play, Special K and Mark T. The entertainment kept the
crowds on the huge dance floor and bubblin’ like it was a
Friday.
A live PA rounded of the night and rocked
the whole place sending people into a frenzy, as you can see
from the pictures, this got us all going wild. I must take
this opportunity to send a big birthday shout out to all the
groups of male and female ravers that were celebrating their
birthdays and stayed lively from start to finish.
Single girls showed their independence as
they dressed up in heard turning outfits and made the single
guys appear intimidated, but the hunt was on for most when
Promotion City caught up with a few newly made acquaintances
that were comfortably relaxing on the sofa’s at the edge of the club.
“I’m a happy dude, lets just hope this
young lady is as happy as me” said Calvin from Tottenham, with a wide grin on
his face. We asked his ‘new friend’ Susan what she thought of
the night… “Without a doubt, I’m feeling this night, I’m
feeling the vibes, and I wouldn’t mind feeling this man too!”
– On that note, we left them to get to know each other and
continued absorbing the warm atmosphere.
'IndepenDance' is in association with a
show called ‘Bennick TV’ which is broadcasted on Sky Digital’s
Ben TV. Interviews were being held at the back of the club by
the spacious VIP area. Personal interviews, including an
exclusive with our own Promotion City team were recorded, so
keep your eyes peeled for that one.
Well, this was just the first of many, so
if you missed out, and feel teased and tormented by the
pictures scrolling by, make sure your attend NYT next
Wednesday for another ‘IndepenDance’ affair. For guestlist,
use the new Promotion City Guestlist

So until the next time, keep it bookmarked to
