As Promotion City entered the highly secure
Marsh Wall area, the first thing to notice was the hundreds of
cars parked up and that people were still arriving in search
for spaces. The location of the Water Front Club was very
difficult to locate however once it was found, we believed
this to be one of the best situated clubs we’ve attended this
year. The eye candy surroundings and attractive bright lights
around the modern Canary Wharf and surrounding buildings, not
forgetting the great views and beautiful river reflections
were a great introduction on the approach to the club.
As
PromotionCity entered the building we noticed that the vibes
were lively and the crowd were all responding and chanting
with the well known line up of garage MC’s and DJ’s who
included Karl Tuff Enuff Brown, Footloose, Ray Hurley, MC
Creed & MC L.E.V, Sammy Samm, Hyperdelic and G-Ents. The
dance floor was totally packed towards the area where the MC’s
were standing consisting mostly of ladies hoping to get
noticed by the stars.
As if we
were not being entertained enough as it was, Promotion City
soon realized that Waterfront had a second room located
upstairs. The upstairs room was overflowing with people who
where dancing to bashment and classical RnB flavours supplied
by Hyperdelic and G-Ents. It was at this point when Promotion
City believed that there was nothing “Hush Hush” about this
event – it was an absolutley lively atmosphere!
Promotion City have to
give nuff love to the girls on this night as the majority of
vibes were coming from the ladies. There was one large group
of all ladies in particular making ‘whole-leap-a’ noise
downstairs in the main room near the DJ booth (you know who
you are!). Birthday celebration vibes and harmonious singing
kept the place buzzing till the early hours of 4am. The
ladies and gents looked very stylish and due to the mix in
musical genre, the night attracted clubbers from all areas.
Waterfront was an ideal location for such a night, however
finding it was the only negative.
The night
ended well with the DJ playing a slow jams session for all the
couples that got acquainted earlier in the evening. These
couples got the opportunity to bump and grind till the lights
came on. The mood continued outside with the river in view,
lights shining, and people 'hitching up' on the railings,
conversing under the lanterns despite the light drizzle of
rain.
Overall,
Promotion City would undoubtedly call this night 'a sure thing', friendly vibes
from the very start till the very end, with people helping each other to
find what we called the ‘hidden entrance’ to the club. We would
like to thank the security and organizers of ‘Hush Hush’ for
providing the heated lanterns outside while we all queued in cold besides the sea breeze – it
was so needed!
