On Saturday 17th July 2004, Irresistible Promotions introduced to you the raver the launch of what is expect to be a very big regular event in the future…Hotmail!

This was Hotmail: The Launch Party, which also saw the birthday celebrations for Irresistible Promotions very own ‘Buttersbwoy’ and ‘Ernest’.

Hotmail was held at the unique venue named ‘The Yacht Club’. Yacht Club for those who have not been there, is a permanently docked boat redesigned to accommodate the dancing feet of the hundreds of ravers that pack in on the boat, which is situated on the bank of the river Thames. The outside of the club is very appealing to the eye and it has an excellent view from upstairs as you cast your eye across the skyline of London City at night. Once you step on board, the idea I guess is that you should feel like you are on a cruise liner. Once we were all upon board it was clear that this had been a very good turn out as lots of familiar faces from Irresistible Promotions previous events came out to support and pay their birthday respects.

As per usual the Irresistible Promotions crew set the pace with the dress code of being suited and booted and set an example to their ravers of how to come correct. Big up to Crew consisting of Cecil, Buttersbwoy, Zar, Ernest and not forgetting Skeet. The ravers who came out complied with the dress code and apart from the odd person here and there who did not seem to get it right with the dressing, the ravers overall came out looking on point.

The ratio on this night I would say was generally 2:1 in favour of the ladies, with the average age being approximately 22-26 yrs. Musically it was satisfying in that you had a variety of rooms to choose from ranging from Level 2, which played R`N`B, Hip Hop, and Club Classics and was hosted by Irresistibly Different DJ`s: Sammy Confunktion, Phat Cat$, Adri-X, and DJ Supreme. to  Level 3, where you had the choice of slipping back in time with some Old Skool House and Garage. This room was hosted by Irresistibly Intrigued DJ`s Supa D, Kingsley, and Good Vibes Clive.

Level 2 was definitely the pick of all the rooms/levels for the crowd as this room was consistently packed from wall to wall. What was nice for those who wanted to chill and rest their feet in peace  was the opportunity to get some BBQ Chicken and hard dough bread from ‘Auntie’ on The top of the boat AKA, Level 1, this was also used a an opportunity for some couple to sneak away and……..

Overall crowd feedback suggested that this night goes down as a success, it should be noted however that the general consensus from the crowd feedback received is that the venue needs to be looked at as it seems that Hotmail may be just a little too ‘Hot!’ for the venue of ‘The Yacht Club’.

Watch this Space for the next even BIGGER AND BETTER Hotmail…
