“It’s time to raaaaave!!!!!” – this was the familiar cry from
the host for the night, the one they call…Daze. Elliot Ness in
the mean time had the crowd waiting in anticipation as he
pulled up the Hip hop tune of the moment ‘lean back’ by Terror
Squad and sent the crowd into a wild frenzy It was that time
again…. It was time for Feenin’ – The Summer Dress in White
Party 2004.
Feenin’ was held at the wonderful Waterfront situated on the
river Thames, overlooking the reflections made by the tall
office buildings of canary wharf onto London’s famous river.
Waterfront is well known for its luxurious surroundings, but
has recently made a new name for itself as this venue has
become an attraction to many ravers from all corners of London
and surrounding areas.
As the Promotion City entourage made their way into Waterfront
alongside the G-Ents and Special Touch, we were greeted by the
profoundly known security team who uttered, “Cor blimey,
what’s this, the BBC or something?” – it was apparent that we
had arrived, with the Promotion City team wearing their high
status T-Shirts and ID badges. As we all rolled in it was
clear that we were all here to do what we do best, vibes up
the place!
The theme for this evening was white summer wear, and this was
indeed what we saw. Gents were dancing in their small groups
wearing white vests and three quarter length casual trousers
with white headscarf’s or do-rags etc. Ladies represented the
summer feeling at feenin’ with white summery dresses, frilly
ra-ra skirts, small white crop tops, halter necks and high
white stiletto’s. The atmosphere was highly spirited and the
temperature was just as high to match.
Entertainment on this evening was provided by a fine selection
of musical geniuses, which included Special Touch, Elliot Ness
& Daze, G-Ents, Studio Express, Cover Up, Hyperdelic, Leona H,
Smoove Connection and Drop Squad. It must be mentioned that
Leona H’s set was one that had the guys slapping walls,
stamping feet and clapping in appreciation of this fine
females talent on the decks. Have a look at the scrolling
pictures or through the picture gallery to see snaps of her in
action.
At no time was the dance floor at a stand still while everyone
rocked to the beats of the finest RnB, Bashment, Soul Classics
and Slow Jamz which soothed the ears of the hundreds of
clubbers, who filled this venue from wall to wall.
Elliot Ness & Daze had undoubtedly organised yet another road
block event following their recent success at Cocktail, and
always promise to deliver a fun filled, action packed night of
entertainment and good vibes. Be sure to look out for
Promotion City at the next Cocktail Anniversary. Get your glad
rags ready and prepare that pose for Promotion City so we can
get a sharp picture of you to put in our ever-popular Clubbers
Gallery. Please note that Cocktail is a TICKET only event.!!
So don’t say we did not warn you!
Don’t forget, if your gonna be raving it up over the carnival
bank holiday, then there’s only one place to be, and that’s at
Club Cirque (Hippodrome) on 30th August 04 to support and
celebrate PromotionCity.co.uk’s Anniversary on a night called
Cheeky - The Biggest RnB Party of the year!
