Cocktail returns! Cocktails returns!!!
These were the familiar cries greeted to us in and around the
capital prior to this event. After a lively last Cocktail the
question on everyone’s lips was how would this 4th
Cocktail proceed? With the promoters taking heed of comments
from the previous Cocktail and issuing signs on traffic boards
and tickets clearly marked ‘Get there Early!!’ and ‘This is a
Ticket Only event’ it was clear to see that the raver’s were
hopeful that the few creases from the last event could be
ironed out!
It seems like only yesterday when the
first cocktail started 1 year ago in which it celebrated
Squeaky and Longers Birthday. This was Cocktails 1st
Anniversary and again also celebrated these two G-Ents stars
birthdays.
Cocktail was held once again at the
players club in East Ham, East London. There were a few things
that you have come to expect from cocktail events. The first
is a lot of anticipation and hype! The second thing is lots
and lots of glamorous people coming out to make an effort! And
lastly an excellent standard of music supplied by your
Cocktail ‘residents’ G-Ents, Elliot Ness & Daze, Studio
Express, Special Touch, D-Tee, Cover Up.
We, I must say, we were blessed with all
of the above; however as the dictionary definition of cocktail
states, this was ‘a mixture of different things, which created
something unexpected and exciting.’ Cocktail is currently a
victim of its own success…The unique effect of providing
people with what they want to hear and creating the right type
of vibe has had an adverse effect to say the least. The simple
fact of the matter is that the demand from the raver to
experience and be part of this night has outgrown the ‘home’
of Cocktail- Players Club, just like Arsenal have outgrown
their stadium and home ‘Highbury’. Hundreds of unhappy people
once again could not get into the club to be a part of
Cocktails 1st anniversary even though the promoters
had stressed that this was a ticket only event and you must
arrive early.
I would like to reiterate once again that
musically Cocktail was more than on point even though the
ravers had to experience some of the highest temperatures in a
rave I have ever witnessed in a dance. Feedback received from
ravers in the dance and after the dance also backed this up.
I have
been assured that the ‘home’ of Cocktail is being looked at
which can only mean good things to the ravers who want to see
Cocktail maximise its true potential!! The promoters have
PROMISED The Happy Cocktail days will RETURN!!
