year anniversary of ‘Cheeky’ was celebrated at the luxurious
moonlighting night club in Soho, London. Promotion City were
official supporters of this memorable event and took a
collection of digital pictures on the evening for those of you
who were unfortunate to miss it.
Upon entrance to the prestigious
Moonlighting night club, it was instantly obvious that this
night was going to be a hit, due to the large crowds who had
already occupied the massive dance floor. Promotion City
arrived at approximately 11pm and was greeted by Longers from
G-Ents alongside Elliot-Ness throwing down the smoothest RnB
hits and bashment classics. The stylish ladies and suited ’n’
booted gents were all responding to the vinyl hits with a roar
of excitement as they recognised those old time classics.
The ‘high-grade’ entertainment line up on
this anniversary was supplied by Jason Kaye of Radio 1xtra,
Confunktion’s Sammy E Sam, Elliot-Ness from Déjà vu, Supreme
Squad from Sweet FM, Smooth Connection from BMG, Longers from
G-Ents, DJ Memzee of Xtreme FM and 10 Rooms’ Jay Fresh. With
a line up of that calibre, it was no surprise that the venue
was packed to the extent it was. Mister G, MC Navigator,
Wayne Hype & Mark T kept the crowd ‘hollarin’ with those well
know chants such as “Pon Di River… Signal The Plane… Tunda
Clap...“ plus many more.
From a single mans perspective, it was
clear to see that the ladies on the night were not there to
hang around and look pretty. The good vibes and approachable
attitudes that the ladies gave off glowed from majority of the
females on the night which gave the guys that extra boost of
confidence to ‘step in’ and attempt to make that
‘ice-breaking’ maneuver.
This ‘Cheeky’ night had attracted a lot
of the familiar ‘Cheeky’ followers, as well as a nice
selection of international ladies and gents. People from
North, South, East and West all came together in support of
‘Cheeky’s’ 1st year celebrations, and mingled
together till the gratefully late hours of 5am. The musical
ingredients on this night included a generous serving of RnB,
with a large portion of bashment, a touch of garage, a blend
of rare grooves, and a splash of those party classics. This
fine blend had catered for an audience that averaged between
the ages of 20-30, and consisted of 60% females, and 40%
males.
