To access the members only area's of Promotion City, you need to enter
your username and password in the boxes provided on the
login page.
To use the Promotion City site, it is recommended that you have at
least Netscape v4.5 or Explorer v4.01 or later version. You can
download the latest version of Internet Explorer from
http://www.microsoft.com/ie or, the latest version of Netscape
from
http://www.netscape.com/download.
To find out what version INTERNET EXPLORER you are using
- click on HELP
- click on ABOUT INTERNET EXPLORER.
To find out what version of NETSCAPE NAVIGATOR you are using
- click on HELP
- click on ABOUT COMMUNICATOR.
To find out what version of AOL you are using
- click on HELP (on tool bar)
- click on ABOUT AMERICA ONLINE.
Can't login...?
Have you joined?
Before you can login, you have to register
as a member. You choose a username and a password is emailed to
the email address you provide as part of the registration process.
Are you unable to type in the boxes?
It has been brought to our attention by a very small number of users that some of
you are unable to type in the boxes. This is an issue we have been tackling for
some time, however we beleive we have solved the mystery. If however, you are still
having this problem, please email the webmaster: webmaster@promotioncity.co.uk. And
provide as much information as possible, ie. The browser you're using, the page you couldnt type on, the operating system your using etc. And
we will do our very best to try and totally fix the problem.
Does your browser accept cookies?
To login you must accept a temporary cookie from us. If your browser
is set to refuse cookies, you won't be able to login.
How to enable Cookies for NAVIGATOR:
- Go to EDIT.
- Click on PREFERENCES.
- Click directly on ADVANCE.
- Be sure the box that says "ACCEPT ALL COOKIES" is checked off.
- Click OK to exit
How to enable Cookies for EXPLORER:
- Go to INTERNET OPTIONS
- This is under either VIEW or TOOLS depending on version. (Version 4 under
VIEW and version 5 under TOOLS)
- Click Security tab.
- Click on Custom Level.
- Scroll Down to COOKIES
- "Enable Cookies" should be checked off.
- Click OK to exit
How to enable Cookies on AOL (v4.0) for WINDOWS:
- Click on START MENU from desktop
- Click on SETTINGS, then CONTROL PANEL
- Click on the INTERNET icon.
- Click the ADVANCED tab and scroll down until you see the word COOKIES.
- Click on ALWAYS ACCEPT COOKIES.
- Click on APPLY and then OK to exit.
How to enable Cookies on AOL (v3.x) for WINDOWS or (v4.x) for MACINTOSH:
- Click on MEMBERS or MY AOL.
- Click PREFERENCES.
- Click on WWW or WEB.
- Click on ADVANCED TAB and scroll down until you see the word COOKIES.
- ENABLED should be checked off.
- Click OK to exit.
How to enable Cookies on AOL (v3.x) for MACINTOSH:
- Cookies are NOT available through v3.x for Mac. AOL recommends upgrading
to AOL 5.0.

Using Internet Explorer to help you login
The "AutoComplete" function of Internet Explorer can help you remember
your username and password for Promotion City.
By following the 6 steps below, you can specify whether you want
Internet Explorer to prompt you to save a password when you enter it
in a Web page. Then, when you enter a username entry you've used
before, Internet Explorer will automatically fill in the corresponding
password if it has been saved.
To do this:
- In Internet Explorer, go to the Tools menu and select "Internet Options"
- Click on the "Content" tab
- In the "Personal Information" area click on "AutoComplete"
- In the "Use AutoComplete for" area put a check in the box next to: Web
addresses, Forms, User names and password on forms, Prompt me to save
passwords
- Click "OK"
- Click "OK" again
