With a mix of `Cheeky`, a generous blend of `Confunktion` and a generous serving of that `west-end vibe`, a concoction was formed on New Years Eve at a newly recognised city venue, APT - simply entitled `True - New Years Eve`.
APT Bar, situated opposite the infamous Silks and Spice had been overlooked by many promoters in the past. Many ravers have complained that they`re fed-up of the same old venues. The promoters of `True` listened to their audience and decided to give you something different in order to `see out the old and welcome the new`.
Playing on this cosmo-funky night was: Confunktion, Chilli Source, Smooth Connection, Demi, Mr. XL, Kingsley, Short Fuse, Bazza and Vebz. This fine West-End collective played an assortment of Funky and Soulful House, RnB, Hip-Hop and a hint of Bashment.
The attitude and vibe on this night was hyped and excited as over 300 clubbers counted in the New Year with Smooth Connections DJ Redz who decided to use the mic for the first time. The night was an overall success, and with Soul Deeps NYE Ball only just across the road, this was proof that not every event sees the same faces wherever you go. So now after this 2006 entrance, the question is `When is the next Cheeky/Confunktion calibration?`
