For all the people that stayed in their yards on Sat 11th March missed out on a good rave. It was a long waiting Instalments held at the very stylish, Silks and Spice and brought to you by Creative Circle Ent, Kidd Promotions and our very own award winning Promotion City. Located in the city it was easy to find, with accessible parking facilities and right next to Bank underground train station. Tickets were priced at £12.50 and more on the door.
The night was packed of all the urban beats, such as, rnb, hip-hop, reggae, bashment, funky house, garage, jungle and sexy slow jams. Each and every dj was able to cater to everyone’s tastes. The night started out with a relaxed, mellow vibe to get everyone in the mood. With a few minor hick-ups at the beginning from Creeper and Giggsy not getting the flow of records right. It was cool though, due to the crowd not arriving on time (as usual).
The rave quickly began to get jammed with London’s finest, dressed up in their sexiest garments. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly security and door staff, and the promotion teams. The venue has two rooms, however only one was open to start with until the 1.30am when the party really got started. The club is highly stylish; the first room has a huge bar right in the middle within everyone’s reach packed with a huge variety of drinks the bar staff were serious and on the ball. The bar staff were very friendly and Kelz even got a free drink – jammy cow.
It took a while for the crowd to get bubbling, however once they did and the second room was opened people had more then enough space to begin enjoying themselves. Silks and Spice is a large venue with two rooms, two bars, two sets of toilets, and a cloakroom and dj booth. A number of hosts interacted with the crowd walking around with the mic bubbling with everyone. The most memorable part of the night was G-ents ripping up the dance pulling up every tune making the crowd go wild, with Longers spinning the riddims he had everyone doing the Willy Bounce. They got a good response when they played the latest hype, funky house.
Bottles of Dom P, Moet and Branfy were in full flow and as everyone got crunked up they began to let their inhabitations go and let loose. Playing a set straight after G-ents could be difficult however Scottie B and Kool J continued the hype banging out old and new skool garage. By 3.45 the slow jams were in full effect allowing all those guys to make their last moves on those sexy ladies. As people began to leave there were still those last few couples bumping and grinding against the walls. That’s right we saw you.
