DMX Album Launch Party

DMX Album Launch Party

Hip Hop
Performers / PA's: DMX plus supporting artists.

DMX came to town to officially launch his 7th new album, “Year Of The Dog Again”, released 31st July.

The venue, for some reason appeared to be very dark, gloomy and basement-like, but, never the less had just the right atmosphere for an evening with DMX.

We were entertained by Shortee Blitz and Martello banging out a DVD DJ set and the corresponding videos being shown on big screen. (A first for me and much liking the way it was show-cased).

This was then followed by Label bosses giving us a taster of tracks from the new album, including his forth-coming single “Lord Give Me A Sign” due to be released on July 24th. We were also given a sneak preview of his new reality TV show due to hit U.S. TV screens later this year.

After what seemed like a lifetime, the man himself finally graced us with his presence, performing big hits such as “X Gon Give It To Ya, Ruff Ryders Anthem and Where The Hood At……..”

The only downfall to the night was when he performed one of his newer tracks “Give Em What Ya Want”. He didn’t get the crowd participation he was hoping for, more likely because the crowd consisted of mainly industry people as opposed to die hard fans, and he basically ended the night by walking off stage mid tune, in a bit of a strop!!!!

Big Baby… But still Gorgeous!!!!!
