After quite an intensive advertising campaign – Sweet Boy
Entertainment presented to us their Candy Floss: Official launch party. Upon entry Promotion City rolled up at approximately 12.45am. At this point I must admit we were slightly worried at the lack of female eye candy on offer. Call it what you like but there were only 2 females in the line at the time we entered and about 10 man! This did actually start the alarm bells ringing!
When we got in, we were greeted by exceptionally friendly cloakroom staff who were pleasantly mannered and
very welcoming. Things looked on the up, and this was confirmed as we went downstairs to the main room. It seems as though the ‘man dem’ were on a ‘last minute dot com ting’ and the ladies very much on point arriving early! When to our relief there was more than enough female eye candy to wet the male appetite.
Market bar is a nice comfortable size in that when it is filled, it holds an amount that doesn’t create
a ‘too much people – too ram’ scenario!
As we continued to move into the dance Y’N'R Entertainers were on spinning some bashment riddims. The crowd at this point where still warming up and the atmosphere was mixed at this point, but you could without a doubt see the potential at this stage.
As people stocked up on the alcohol and the night went on things really started
to take off. It was about 2am and up stepped ‘FAB VIBES’ to take the party to that next level it had been promising to go. By now Market Bar was around 90% filled to capacity and you had a lot of merry ravers ‘shocking out’ all over the place and getting ‘jiggy’. The night had a nice finish to it with CONFUNKTION playing a great last set
of pure old skool, which had people reminiscing of back in
the day.
We caught up with a few of the ladies on the night and asked what they thought of the night….
Anneka from West London said “ I think it was alright, it started off slow but I must admit by the end I had a really good time in particular the last set” (Confunktions set)
Celeine from North London said, “It was quite a decent party. Nice crowd, no trouble and I come here quite regularly and it was great to see different faces!”
So overall I would say this was not a bad night party! New faces, trouble free and a decent atmosphere to match. Well done Sweet Boy Entertainment.
