This year saw Acfest team up with the Summer Fiesta to bring us a jam-packed weekend full of good vibes and nothing but scorching sun. The weekend kicked of on Friday night with sets by a host of big names including Shortee Blitz and a PA by the Roll Deep Entourage. With the free drinks in the VIP section being more than abused.
The weekend was packed full of opportunities to mingle from visits to the beach located just 150 yards away, to the Go-Karts, to Badminton, to Tennis, to the Kids Playground (if you could fit your bottom on a swing), to the Football Tournament, to the Barbeque Burgers, to the mass Water Fight, to Rounders, to the Big Game (England vs Paraguay, £1.50 pints included) to the day time jam at Pontins own Queen Victoria hosted by Play, there was fun to be had all around.
During the day on Saturday, the Play Entertainment family complimented the rays of sunshine with their smooth grooves. Those of us that found the heat too much were quickly armed with a water pistol ready to defend themselves. It was everyman out for themselves, which soon became boys against girls. Needless to say the odds were unfavourable, as the boys had pre-packed their supasoakers before they came.
Sunday, the day of rest? Not here, the football tournament kicked off and kept the guys occupied until the early evening. After which some of us were taken back to the good old days with a nostalgic game of rounders, while others watched a showcase in the main hall.
The weekend saw a lot of fun and live entertainment including the talent show, Dr Psycho blaring out jokes from the sidelines, Choong Family, Big Brothers, Tim Westwood, and many more. By the end of the weekend everyone was truly exhausted by their hectic last few days, but it was a weekend where new friendships were made and great memories where created.
